We had our first Family Yard Sale, Saturday, April 23, 2022 and I would like to take this time to thank everyone who came out and supported us.

Serenity Home for Mattie's Girl, LLC., realizes no resource is as important as shelter for your family. To ensure our teenage mothers and expecting mothers have every advantage necessary to excel as productive members of the community and society at large we are reaching out to you, the community, in hopes that you will join us in helping establish a new home for these young mothers.

Serenity Home for Mattie's Girl, LLC have been a vision of mind for over 25 years, however, I would always get sidetracked when it came to me getting things off the ground. I have had the opportunity to work as a Early Head Start teacher, work in mental health, operate my own home daycare. All of these things brought joy to my heart but they did not fulfill me like helping and serving.
My mother Mattie Rea Whitfield-Sistrunk is the true reason this organization is so dear to my heart. This lady was amazing she raised nine children and I am the baby of the nine and I am living out her dreams of helping others. She told me she wanted to see her children's names in lights before she dies, however, our names did not get to be in lights before her death, so I am dedicating and naming this organization to the love of my life my mother, Mattie.
I myself was a teen mom. I had my first child at the age of 16, however, I had a strong support system. My mother was by no means happy about what I had gotten myself into but she made sure I finished high school. My sisters and my aunt made sure my daughter was taken care of while I went to school. Today I am the proud mother of three beautiful daughters, a wife of a retired veteran and the grandmother of seven beautiful grandchildren. I have so much love to share and I am on a mission to help any young lady and give them what God has put in me to share with them.

Our Mission
Serenity Home for Mattie's Girl, LLC. provides a protective atmosphere and therapeutic programs for expecting teenagers and teenage mothers who are wards-of-the-state or homeless. We provide compassionate and spiritual guidance to homeless pregnant and parenting young women. SHMG show our young ladies how to break the cycle of poverty and trans-generational trauma.
